Assoc. Prof. Gamze Ungur is affiliated with the Department of Coach Education at Dokuz Eylul University’s Faculty of Sports Sciences. She holds a PhD from Marmara University’s Institute of Health Sciences (2013) and an MSc from Ege University (2009). Her research focuses on psychosocial aspects of sports, mental health in athletes, and the interplay between exercise and emotional well-being.

Research interests include emotional intelligence in elite athletes, stress management, and the psychological impacts of exercise. She has contributed to publications on holistic health strategies and the role of exercise in well-being.
Publications include peer-reviewed conference papers and book chapters on topics such as mental imagery training in football and the relationship between mental endurance and performance. She has supervised 2 theses, including a 2021 study on penalty shooting skills and imagination levels.
Her academic career includes a Lecturer role at Dokuz Eylul University (2011–2013) before her current position. She actively engages in collaborative research on UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education.
