Dr. G. Michael Grammer is a Regents Professor of Geology at Oklahoma State University (OSU) and the Chesapeake Energy Chair of Petroleum Geology. His research focuses on sedimentary geology, particularly the three-dimensional formation and evolution of marine systems influenced by paleoceanography, paleoclimate, and sea level changes.
- Education: B.S. in Geology (University of South Florida), M.S. in Geology (Southern Methodist University), Ph.D. in Marine Geology and Geophysics (University of Miami/RSMAS)
- Key Roles: Former industry professional, academic leader, and director of a multinational industrial consortium on Mississippian-aged reservoirs in Oklahoma
His work bridges academia and the energy industry, with extensive funding from federal agencies (NSF, DOE/NETL, NOAA/NURP) and industry partners. Dr. Grammer has taught short courses globally and held editorial roles, including 14 years as Associate Editor for the Journal of Sedimentary Research.
