G. Ambika

Prof. G. Ambika is an Honorary Professor in Physics at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram. Her primary research explores nonlinear dynamics, complex networks, and data-driven complexity measures across diverse systems, including neuroscience, climate science, and astrophysics. She has taught courses such as Nonlinear Dynamics, Complex Systems, and Classical Mechanics (2019–2022).

Her research focuses on:

• Chimera states and synchronization in multiplex networks
• Recurrence network analysis for medical (ECG), climate, and financial data
• Early-warning signals for critical transitions in systems like neurons or stars
• Machine learning applications in dynamical state detection

Prof. Ambika holds editorial roles at Philosophical Transactions A (Royal Society) and European Physical Journal Special Topics. She is Vice President of the Society for Nonlinear and Complex Systems (SoNCoS) and serves on DST committees supporting women in STEM.
