Gökhan Torun

Gökhan Torun serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at İzmir University of Economics since February 3, 2025, focusing on theoretical quantum information frameworks and emerging quantum technologies.

Dr. Torun's research centers on Quantum Information Theory, where he investigates fundamental quantum resources like entanglement and coherence through Quantum Resource Theories. His work bridges theoretical models with practical Quantum Technologies applications in computation, communication, and metrology, emphasizing resource quantification under operational constraints.

His research recognition includes:

Prior to his current role, Dr. Torun completed 4.5 years of postdoctoral research at Istanbul Technical University, Boğaziçi University, Koç University, and TÜBİTAK Research Institute for Fundamental Sciences (2019-2023), followed by teaching Physics and Mathematics at Alanya University (2024-2025). During his doctoral studies, he contributed to the Quantum Correlations group at the University of Nottingham.
