Furkan Paligu is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Information Technology & Sciences at Champlain College, affiliated with the Leahy Center for Digital Forensics & Cybersecurity. He holds a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering from Marmara University, a Master's in Cybersecurity Engineering from Istanbul Şehir University, and a Ph.D. in Digital and Cyber Forensics Science from Sam Houston State University. His expertise includes digital forensics, web browser security, malware analysis, secure software development, and penetration testing.
Dr. Paligu has contributed to large-scale IT projects in governmental institutions, focusing on data leak prevention systems, malware scanning architectures, electronic signature systems, and customer management systems. His research emphasizes forensic analysis of modern web technologies like IndexedDB storage, as seen in investigations of WhatsApp Web, Instagram, and Microsoft Teams. He has developed forensic tools like BrowStExPlus for aggregating IndexedDB artifacts.
