Assoc. Prof. Dr. Furkan Kaya is a faculty member at Yeditepe University's Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He holds a PhD in Political Science and International Relations from Yeditepe University, with a dissertation focusing on Turkish foreign policy and the Cyprus issue (1955-1960). His academic career includes teaching courses on Turkish foreign policy history, American history, and 20th-century world history, all delivered in English. He has supervised numerous master’s and doctoral theses, including studies on Turkish neutrality during WWII and the impact of military coups on foreign policy.
Research & Education: His research interests span international energy policies, Turkish-Iranian relations, and Eurasian geopolitics. He has authored books like Uluslararası Enerji Politikaları (Cambridge Scholars Publishing) and Türkiye-İran İlişkileri (Yeditepe University Press). His academic contributions include analyses of Atatürk’s foreign policy philosophy, the role of energy corridors in Eurasia, and comparative studies on Russian and American Eurasianism.
Awards & Activities: He received the En İyi Kitap award from Yeditepe University and a jury special award from myYalova Dergisi. Beyond academia, he hosts the historical TV program An ve Zaman on 24Tv and writes as a columnist on foreign policy for YeniBirlik Gazetesi.
