معرفی
Dr. Fuchs Xaver is a Senior Scientist at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, affiliated with the Reach & Touch Lab. He holds a PhD in Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Heidelberg and a Psychology Diploma from Philipps University of Marburg. His research focuses on how sensory information shapes body perception, particularly touch perception and its interplay with vision, spatial perception, and motor processes. Key methods include bodily illusions assessed via psychophysics and psychophysiology. Special populations studied include amputees with phantom phenomena and chronic pain sufferers.
Education:
- 2011–2017: PhD, Institute of Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience, University of Heidelberg
- 2004–2010: Psychology Diploma, Philipps University of Marburg
Research Interests: Sensory processing, body representation, phantom limb pain, tactile localization, and multisensory integration. His work bridges clinical and cognitive neuroscience, exploring how altered sensory inputs affect pain perception and body ownership.
Publications: Recent work includes studies on tactile illusions, phantom pain correlations, and multisensory coding. His 2022 Cortex paper on cross-limb tactile illusions and 2021 European Journal of Pain study on heat pain thresholds in amputees highlight his contributions to clinical neuroscience.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Reach & Touch Lab, investigating touch perception and body schema dynamics. Collaborates on projects involving chronic pain mechanisms and neurorehabilitation strategies.
