Fuat Yilmaz is an Associate Professor at Gaziantep University's Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on heat transfer enhancement techniques, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and fluid mechanics. He has extensive experience in supervising graduate research and teaching advanced engineering courses.
- Doctorate: Gaziantep University (2005-2011)
- MSc: Gaziantep University (1997-2001)
- BSc: Gaziantep University (1991-1997)
His research spans heat transfer optimization using twisted tapes and wire coils, CFD modeling of fluid systems, and biomechanics applications like blood flow analysis. Recent work emphasizes geometric modifications for thermal performance improvement and turbulence modeling in energy systems.
With over 13 peer-reviewed publications, his articles focus on twisted tape curvature effects, vortex generator optimization, and multiphase flow dynamics. He has led two national research projects on heat exchanger performance and contributed to international conferences in mechanical engineering.
- Doctoral and master's students supervised in computational fluid dynamics and thermal systems
- Developed courses in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Boundary Layer Theory, and Turbulence Modeling
- Administrative roles include Erasmus and Mevlana exchange program coordination
