Fuat Karakaya

Fuat Karakaya serves as an Assistant Professor and Program Director for the Portland-Metro (PM) program at Oregon Institute of Technology's Portland-Metro campus within the Department of Computer Systems Engineering Technology.

His research spans interdisciplinary domains including Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Embedded Systems, Hardware Design, Software Engineering, and Real-time Systems. These fields emphasize the integration of physical computing components with software architectures, particularly for industrial control systems and resource-constrained environments where reliability and timing precision are critical.

As Program Director, he oversees curriculum development and academic operations for the Portland-Metro engineering programs, bridging theoretical education with industry applications through Oregon Tech's cooperative education partnerships.
