معرفی
Frédéric Launay is a Lecturer and researcher at the University of Poitiers since 2004, affiliated with the University Institute of Technology (IUT) and the LIAS laboratory (Computer Science and Automation Laboratory for Systems). He teaches in the Networks and Telecoms department while conducting research in telecommunications infrastructure.
His expertise spans landline, business, and mobile telephony systems, with deep specialization in 4G/LTE networks, Voice over IP implementations, and emerging 5G technologies. He has developed professional training programs for business telephony solutions (Alcatel, Aastra AXS 5000, Asterisk, Freeswitch) and serves as a trainer for France Télécom executives. Current research focuses on wireless network optimization through base station control and Self-Optimizing Networks (SON) to enhance coverage and capacity in LTE systems.
At LIAS, Launay contributes to the Automation team and control pole, having evolved from chaotic signal synchronization research to practical wireless network applications. His blog on telecommunications technologies attracts international engagement from academics and industry professionals, including training requests from operators in Senegal and Algeria. He is co-authoring a book on telecommunications topics while maintaining active industry collaborations, such as with WpoTech regarding SON implementations adopted by Telefonica.
