Frits Rosendaal

Frits Rosendaal is a Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), holding a Chair since 1999. He also serves as Chair of the Department of Clinical Epidemiology at LUMC and has held affiliate professorships at institutions like the University of Vermont, University of Washington, and University of Tromsø. His academic career spans over three decades with key roles in thrombosis, hematology, and obesity research.

Research Interests

Rosendaal's work focuses on cardiovascular disease, drug side effects, obesity-related disorders, and scientific integrity. He pioneered epidemiological studies identifying novel thrombosis risk factors like Factor V Leiden and prothrombin 20210A mutations. His recent research includes Covid-19 vaccine studies, opioid use epidemiology, and meta-research on research quality.

Leadership Roles
