Prof. Dr. Friederike A. Eyssel is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology and Sport Science, Bielefeld University. She leads the research group "Applied Social Psychology and Gender Studies" at the Center for Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC), a central interdisciplinary research institute. Her work bridges psychology, robotics, and gender studies, focusing on human-technology interaction.
Her research interests include social robotics, anthropomorphism, dehumanization, and gender dynamics. She explores how humans perceive and interact with robots and AI systems, combining experimental social psychology with cutting-edge technology. Her interdisciplinary approach is central to Bielefeld's strategic research area on the Socio-Technical World.
