Frida Feijen is a Lecturer at the Department of Environmental Systems Science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich). Her research focuses on ecological and evolutionary dynamics of host-parasite interactions.
Her work centers on the trematode parasite Atriophallophorus winterbourni and its host, the freshwater snail Potamopyrgus antipodarum, investigating biological processes in their native range in New Zealand. This includes studying mixed reproductive strategies in snail populations and implications for ecological invasions.
She is also actively involved in teaching, specifically offering the course 701-1471-00L Ecological Parasitology for the Autumn Semester 2025. Her scientific activities are affiliated with Eawag (Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology), where she contributes to research in aquatic ecology.
