معرفی
Fredric Janzen is a Professor in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University, affiliated with the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station (KBS) and the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources. His research integrates molecular and quantitative genetic techniques with experimental lab and field studies to address ecological and evolutionary questions.
- Director, W.K. Kellogg Biological Station
- Focus on reptiles (especially turtles) as model organisms
Research Interests
His work explores adaptive processes and conservation concerns through studies of:
- Molecular phylogenetics and phylogeography
- Environmental and genetic influences on phenotypic variation
- Sex-determining mechanisms in reptiles
- Population dynamics under human impact
- Climate change effects on life-history traits
- Conservation genetics and demographic structure
Scientific Support
Fredric's research has been funded by multiple National Science Foundation (NSF) grants over decades, including:
- DEB-1242510
- IOS-1257857
- Supplemental grants
