Frederick F. Wherry is the Townsend Martin, Class of 1917 Professor of Sociology and Vice-Dean for Diversity and Inclusion at Princeton University. He is affiliated with the Department of Sociology and African-American Studies. His research focuses on economic sociology, consumer studies, financial systems, and racial inequality, particularly exploring mass debt and economic justice. He founded the Debt Collection Lab and Dignity + Debt Network to address predatory debt practices.
