Fred-Johan Pettersen is an Associate Professor at the University of Oslo's Department of Electronics. His research focuses on medical technology and analog electronics, particularly in sensor technology, signal processing, and biomedical applications. He has over 15 years of experience in analog electronics design for integrated circuits and worked at Oslo University Hospital's Medical Technology Department. He teaches FYS3231 – Sensors and Measurement Technology.
His research interests include transducer design, sensor signal transmission, and clinical parameter interpretation. Notably, he has contributed to studies on electroadhesion, left ventricular assist devices (LVAD), and bioimpedance spectroscopy. He is affiliated with the Oslo Bioimpedance and Medical Technology Group and serves on the National Ethics Committee for Clinical Trials of Medicinal Products and Medical Devices (REK KULMU).
