A/Prof Fraser Torpy is an Associate Professor at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), leading the Plants and Environmental Quality Research Group across multiple faculties. He holds a BSc (Biotechnology) with University Medal (1993) and PhD in microbial ecology (2000) from UTS. His research focuses on Nature-Based Systems for air pollution mitigation, urban heat island effects, and biodiversity enhancement, with over 85 peer-reviewed publications. He has secured >$5.25M AUD in research funding and supervised students awarded $809K in scholarships.
