Françoise HEULOT-PETIT is an HDR Lecturer in Performing Arts at the Université d'Artois, affiliated with the UFR Lettres et Arts. Her research focuses on contemporary theater, particularly monologue dramaturgy, theater for young audiences, and the intersection of puppetry and performance. She holds a PhD (2003) and HDR (2018) in Theater Studies.
Key research interests include war representation in youth theater, pedagogical writing workshops in prisons, and disability dramaturgies. She co-directs the Chantier-Théâtre project for students with special needs and collaborates with institutions like Culture Commune. Her work bridges artistic creation and educational innovation, emphasizing cultural mediation and inclusive practices.
Publications include books such as Dramaturgies de la guerre pour le jeune public (2020) and edited volumes on puppetry and decentralization. Awards include her 2003 thesis distinction. Recent activities include organizing international symposia on Sylvie Baillon’s puppetry and disability representation in theater.
Administratively, she served as Vice-President for Student Success (2020–2024) and holds roles in university governance. Teaching spans undergraduate/graduate courses in theater pedagogy, dramaturgy, and youth performance.
