Françoise Bichai

Françoise Bichai is an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil, Geological and Mining Engineering, Polytechnique Montréal, specializing in integrated urban water management and resilience strategies. She leads the Résilience de l'approvisionnement en eau dans les villes (RAEV) research group with over 20 graduate students and holds affiliations as a Researcher at CEISCE, Visiting Researcher at IHE-Delft, and Member of CREDEAU and GENIE EAU.

Her research focuses on urban water resilience under climate and anthropogenic pressures, with expertise in hybrid water systems, QMRA, pathogen transport, and water safety planning. She has developed multicriteria decision support frameworks and climate adaptation strategies for municipal water systems.

Recent publications (2025-2022) demonstrate trends in bioretention systems, green infrastructure, Bayesian risk modeling, and urban climate resilience, with keywords spanning environmental engineering, public health, and climate adaptation. Her work integrates stormwater harvesting, wastewater reuse, and hybrid system planning.
