Françoise Berserik (1949, The Hague) is a stone carver, book designer, graphic designer, and lecturer at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague since 1996. Her practice spans creating headstones, in-situ inscriptions for institutions like the Rijksmuseum, and plinths for statues (e.g., Herman Gorter, Thorbecke, Willem van Oranje). She is associated with the Type and Media department, where she delivered the keynote for Robothon 2018 and contributed to Master's-level education.
Research & Practice: Françoise's work intersects material-based art (stone carving) with typographic and media design. She has curated exhibitions and produced catalogues about her father Hermanus Berserik's work, while also collaborating with publishers such as Querido, Arbeiderspers, Van Oorschot, and Hyphen Press on book covers and scientific publications.
