معرفی
François Charles is a Lecturer (Maître de conférences) in the Department of Mathematics (DMA) at École normale supérieure, Université Paris-Saclay, and serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the École Polytechnique.
Education:
- PhD defended on 6 April 2010 under the supervision of Claire Voisin, Université Paris-Sud (Orsay).
- Habilitation à diriger des recherches (HDR) defended on 6 December 2013 at Université Paris-Sud (Orsay).
Research Interests
Charles’s work lies at the intersection of algebraic and arithmetic geometry. A central theme is the study of K3 surfaces and higher-dimensional holomorphic symplectic varieties, with particular emphasis on the Tate conjecture, the Standard Conjectures, and questions of birational boundedness. He has made important contributions to the theory of algebraic cycles, especially codimension-2 cycles over number fields, and has explored Hodge-theoretic aspects of complex tori and hyperkähler manifolds. His recent work investigates families of rational curves on symplectic varieties and their implications for 0-cycles.
