معرفی
Dr. Franziska Walther is a PhD researcher in the Department of Physiological Diversity at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ, part of the German Center for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) in Leipzig, Germany.
Her primary research focus centers on developing innovative, cost-effective pollen analytical methods through the NutriBee project, addressing critical limitations in current pollen analysis techniques which are often prohibitively time-consuming and expensive. Walther's expertise spans pollen analysis methodology, bee research, advanced microscopy techniques, and plant-pollinator interactions.
Her recent work demonstrates significant progress in applying multispectral imaging flow cytometry to measure spatio-temporal variations in pollen traits of insect-pollinated plants, representing a methodological advancement with potential applications across ecology and agricultural science. This research builds upon her earlier investigations into red mason bee mate choice during her bachelor's studies and pituitary cell analysis of clawed frogs during her master's thesis.
Walther maintains active research collaborations with prominent scientists including Harpole, Hornick, and Dunker, contributing to interdisciplinary efforts in biodiversity research and environmental monitoring. Her work bridges biological research with technological innovation, particularly in developing accessible analytical methods for ecological studies.
