Franziska Michor

Franziska Michor is a Professor of Computational Biology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Department of Data Sciences) and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (Department of Biostatistics), and a Professor of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology at Harvard University. She directs the Dana-Farber Physical Sciences-Oncology Center and the Center for Cancer Evolution. She completed her undergraduate studies in mathematics and molecular biology at the University of Vienna and earned her Ph.D. from Harvard's Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology, followed by a Harvard Society of Fellowship.

Her research integrates mathematical modeling, bioinformatics, and machine learning to study cancer evolution, focusing on tumor initiation, progression, therapy response, and resistance. Key areas include evolutionary dynamics of copy number variation, immune checkpoint blockade resistance, and single-cell lineage tracing. Her lab develops predictive algorithms using diverse data types to optimize cancer treatment strategies.

Recent publications emphasize computational oncology, immunotherapy biomarkers, and evolutionary dynamics. Trends include multi-omics integration, single-cell analysis, and mechanistic modeling of drug resistance across glioblastoma, breast cancer, and myeloid malignancies. Awards include:
