Franziska Geese

Franziska Geese is a Lecturer at the Institute for Nursing and Interprofessionalism within the Lucerne School of Social Work at HSLU SA. Her primary responsibilities include curriculum development for the MSc in Nursing program, teaching, mentoring students, and providing professional coaching. She is actively involved in advancing nursing practices through research focused on optimizing Advanced Practice Nursing roles in Swiss healthcare and oncology settings.

Her research emphasizes the implementation and evaluation of Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) roles in cancer care, particularly in uro-oncology, alongside interprofessional collaboration strategies in acute and complex care environments. She employs mixed-methods and qualitative approaches to study workforce sustainability challenges, job satisfaction factors for APNs, and service delivery improvements.

Her recent publications explore electronic patient-reported outcome measures in sarcoma care, nursing presenteeism, and interprofessional collaboration in patient care transitions. These studies highlight her focus on improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practices and systemic healthcare reforms.

Geese is a key contributor to clinical guidelines, such as the updated European Association of Urology Nurses (EAUN) protocols, and has pioneered curriculum reforms to align nursing education with emerging APN roles in oncology. Her work bridges clinical practice, research, and education to strengthen healthcare systems in Switzerland and beyond.
