Univ.-Prof. Dr. Franz-Stefan Meissel is a leading Austrian scholar in Roman Law and Comparative Legal History at the University of Vienna Faculty of Law. Holding the title of Professor since 2005, he serves as Vice Dean of the Law School, Director of the Advanced Research School in Law and Jurisprudence (ARS IURIS), and Academic Director of the international Sommerhochschule European and International Studies. His career spans key administrative roles including Dean of Studies and leadership of multiple academic commissions.
