Frans de Haas is a Professor of Ancient and Medieval Philosophy at the Faculty of Humanities, Leiden University, affiliated with the Centre for the Arts in Society. He actively supervises PhD candidates and contributes to interdisciplinary research.
- Research Interests: Focus on the Philosophy of Knowledge, emphasizing universal, global, and local dimensions, alongside expertise in Ancient and Medieval Philosophy.
- Teaching Roles: Leads programs in Philosophy (BA), Philosophy (MA), Classics and Ancient Civilizations, Moral and Political Philosophy, and Modern European Philosophy.
- Academic Leadership: Serves as Scientific Director - Change Manager at the Mathematical Institute (MI), Leiden University, since 2021.
