Frankline Augustin

Dr. Frankline Augustin is a Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at California State University, Northridge (CSUN), affiliated with the College of Health and Human Development. She serves as the College of Health and Human Development (CHHD) Dean's Fellow for Racial Equity and has held roles such as Special Assistant to the Dean and Equity Faculty Affiliate for CSUN's Office of the Provost and Office of Student Success.

Education:

• D.P.P.D. in Policy, Planning, and Development (2010) from the University of Southern California
• M.S. in Health Administration (2005) from California State University, Northridge
• B.A. in Cellular & Molecular Biology (1995) from California State University, Northridge

Research Interests:

Dr. Augustin's research focuses on cultural humility, racial equity, and workplace readiness, with an emphasis on diversifying the healthcare workforce and improving student retention. She also explores cultural competence, professional development, older adults' health needs, and diabetes management, informed by her community engagement and governance experience.

Community Involvement:

Dr. Augustin has served as Governing Board Director and Program Board Chair for Meet Each Need with Dignity (MEND Poverty) for eight years and is an Advisory Board Subcommittee Member for Culturally Relevant Practices at Tarzana Treatment Centers. Her community work extends to the Into Focus Prison Ministry, where she provides workforce development training to incarcerated individuals.
