Franklin Tay

Dr. Franklin Tay serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Endodontics at Augusta University's Dental College of Georgia, with secondary appointments in Oral Biology and The Graduate School. His leadership spans departmental administration and interdisciplinary research initiatives.

His research pioneers dentin bonding mechanisms, collagen biomineralization, and novel endodontic materials. Current work bridges dental science with neuroscience and AI, investigating neural pathways in TMJ pain, calculus formation, and machine learning for caries detection. This interdisciplinary approach drives innovation in clinical endodontics and biomaterials development.

Recent publications (2024-2025) reveal expanding scope from fundamental biomineralization studies to computational dentistry, highlighting growing integration of AI in diagnostic imaging and neural mechanisms in dental pain management.
