Franklin Moreno is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Temple University's Department of Criminal Justice and Public Policy Lab (College of Liberal Arts). He holds a PhD in Education from UC Berkeley (2020) and master's degrees from UC Berkeley and NYU. His research focuses on children’s and adolescents’ development in contexts of violence, combining ecological and individual-level analyses across Honduras, Nicaragua, and the U.S. He evaluates violence reduction programs for USAID and co-developed an online Resource Hub for Philadelphia community organizations addressing gun violence.

Research interests include transnational policies affecting youth safety, gang violence impacts on moral reasoning, and cross-cultural comparisons of developmental outcomes. His work bridges academic research with applied violence prevention strategies.
