Frank Talke

Frank Talke is a Professor at the University of California, San Diego, leading the Talke Lab, which focuses on innovative medical device development. The lab addresses critical healthcare challenges through projects such as expandable vaginal dilators for cervical cancer survivors, intraocular pressure sensors for glaucoma monitoring, and augmented reality navigation systems for chronic back pain management.

Research highlights include:

• Design of a detachable bronchoscope to reduce intubation risks during emergency procedures.
• Development of a biofilm-retardent catheter using electricidal coatings to combat catheter-associated urinary tract infections.
• Creation of a portable ophthalmic device combining slit lamp examination and visual acuity screening.
