Frank Morgan is an Associate Professor and Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia (UWA), affiliated with the School of Population and Global Health's Population and Public Health department. He holds a PhD in criminology from UWA (2007), a Master's in Mathematical Physics from Adelaide University, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Statistics.
His research focuses on crime prevention, offender risk assessment, mental illness and crime interplay, and gender-responsive criminology. Notable projects include analyzing gender differences in offender treatment, cultural aspects of violence among Indigenous populations, and the economic drivers of theft. He has contributed to 53 publications and led 31 grants, including major studies on sex offenders in Australia.
Frank has served as Director of the Crime Research Centre (2000–2014) and held leadership roles in crime statistics offices. His work aligns with UN SDGs addressing justice and inequality. He is fluent in French and collaborates internationally on criminological research.
