Frank Mora

Frank O. Mora is Professor of Politics and International Relations at Florida International University's Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs. Formerly Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for the Western Hemisphere (2009-2013), he brings extensive policy experience to his academic work on U.S.-Latin American relations and hemispheric security.

His research focuses on U.S.-Latin American relations, Cuban politics, civil-military relations, and Latin American political economy. Mora has consulted for numerous government agencies including the U.S. State Department, Organization of American States, and U.S. Southern Command.

Education includes:

• MA in Inter-American Studies, University of Miami
• BA in International Affairs, George Washington University

Honors include the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service (2012).
