Frank McGill serves as a Senior Term Instructor in the Department of English at Regis College, Regis University, and is actively involved in the First Year Experience program. His academic role centers on fostering community-based literary exploration and environmental consciousness through textual analysis.
McGill's research is fundamentally rooted in Ecocriticism, examining the intricate relationships between human societies and their environments as reflected in literature. His current scholarship focuses on US Southwest literary representations, analyzing works by diverse authors including Henry David Thoreau and Leslie Marmon Silko to investigate how landscapes function as homes, proving grounds, and sites of identity reinvention. This research underscores literature's capacity to heighten awareness of real-world ecological and social conditions while emphasizing human responsibilities toward all inhabitants of shared environments.
