Frank Manuel Bauer

Frank Manuel Bauer is a Research Engineer and Ph.D. Student at the Institute for Chemical Technology and Polymer Chemistry (ITCP) of the Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT). He works in the Chemical Engineering Group, focusing on catalytic emission control systems for hydrogen-powered engines and heterogeneous catalyst dynamics. His expertise spans solid oxide fuel cells, reactor design, and renewable energy technologies.

• Education: M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (Energy Technology) from Reutlingen University (2019–2022), B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering (Mechanical Engineering & Economy) from Technical University Lübeck (2014–2018).

Current Research: Investigates hydrogen combustion efficiency, catalyst preparation, and pollutant reduction technologies. His work includes pressurized testing of solid oxide cells and CeCo-coated interconnectors to mitigate chromium evaporation.

Previous Research: Focused on electrochemical characterization of SOFC/SOEC, test bench development, and renewable hydrogen production via high-temperature electrolysis.
