Frank M. Shipman is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Texas A&M University, part of the College of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado (1993), an M.S. from the same university (1990), and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rice University (1988). His research focuses on intelligent user interfaces, hypertext systems, multimedia technologies, and computer-supported cooperative work. He has received notable awards including the ACM Distinguished Scientist designation (2009), TEES Center Fellow (2014), and a National Science Foundation CAREER Award (1998–2002). His work spans topics like social media archiving, sign language video analysis, and collaborative systems design. His publications highlight contributions to digital accessibility, crowdsourcing methodologies, and hypervideo systems. He is affiliated with the Texas A&M Department of Computer Science & Engineering and maintains an active Google Scholar profile.
