Frank Lisser is a Dutch painter and educator affiliated with the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) and Minerva Art Academy. He studied Dutch language and literature (1981) and graduated in Fine Art classical painting at Minerva in 1986.
- Teaching: Lecturer at Minerva (1990–present), Rietveld (1994–2004), and KABK (2008–present) for first-year Fine Arts students.
- Artistic Practice: Shifted from Renaissance-style murals (1980s) to observation-based suburban landscapes creating uncanny atmospheres (1990s onward). Maintains a diary of 4200+ small paintings documenting daily life.
Research & Publications: Wrote essays for art magazine De Nieuwe and exhibition catalogues (1999–2018). Focuses on documenting objective reality as a phenomenological construct while avoiding expressive gestures.
