Frank Diaz is an Associate Professor of Music (Music Education) and Coordinator of the Office of Wellness and Arts in Health Initiatives at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He holds affiliate faculty status in the IU Cognitive Science Program. Previously, he taught at the University of Missouri–Kansas City Conservatory, University of Oregon School of Music, and public schools in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

His research integrates mixed-methods investigations of meditative practices with theoretical modeling to bridge scientific and humanistic approaches to contemplative studies. Specific interests include mindfulness for musicians, wellness pedagogy, and arts in health initiatives. He teaches courses in instrumental music education, research methods, and mindfulness.
Diaz founded and directs the Institute for Mindfulness-Based Wellness and Pedagogy, collaborating internationally to advance mindful living and teaching practices. He leads mindfulness programs through partnerships with IU Lifelong Learning and the Eskenazi Museum of Art.
