Prof. Franco Felici is a Full Professor in the Department of Biosciences and Territory at the University of Molise. His research focuses on vaccine development, bacterial pathogenesis, and antibody engineering using phage display technology. Key areas include meningococcal antigens, epitope mapping, and peptide mimicry for vaccine design.
Research interests emphasize understanding microbial virulence factors, especially in Neisseria meningitidis and Streptococcus pneumoniae. His lab develops novel approaches to identify protective epitopes using genomic libraries and next-generation sequencing. Recent work explores immunosignatures correlating with bactericidal activity and the role of memory in embedded systems for military applications.
Publications span 20+ years, highlighting contributions to phage display applications, protein microarrays, and candidacidal antibody engineering. Methodological advancements include PROFILER technology for epitope mapping and lambda phage libraries for antigen discovery.
