Francisco Pena Escobar

Francisco Pena Escobar is an Assistant Professor at the School of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Division of Health Informatics and Logistics.

His educational background includes:

• PhD in Computer Science from University College Cork
• MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the Technical University of Madrid
• Software Engineering Degree from Universidad del Valle

His research focuses on Computer Vision and Unsupervised Learning applied to Digital Pathology and Remote Sensing. As head of the Learning Beyond Supervision Lab, he enforces four core principles:

• Real-World Focus: Prioritizing practical challenges over artificial benchmarks
