Francisco Muñoz Fraile is a Tenured Scientist at the Ceramics and Glass Institute of the Spanish Research Council (CSIC). He specializes in the structural and functional characterization of glasses, with a focus on phosphate, oxynitride, and fluorophosphate systems. His research addresses applications in solid-state batteries, photonic materials, and corrosion-resistant coatings.
Education: PhD in Inorganic Chemistry (2003, Autonomous University of Madrid) and BS in Chemistry (1997, University of Alicante). Previous roles include Marie Curie Fellowships (2005-2006) and research contracts at institutions in France, Germany, and Spain.
Research interests include glass structure-property relationships, ionic conductivity mechanisms, and nanocrystallization processes. He has led projects on lithium battery electrolytes, glass-ceramic design, and industrial furnace optimization.
He has advised PhD students (Laura Muñoz Senovilla, Nerea Mascaraque Álvarez) and supervised numerous MSc and industrial projects. Active in grants like I-LINK+ 2014 (€24,700) and EU-funded INTERCONY (FP6).
Labs/Teams: Part of the Ceramics and Glass Institute, collaborating internationally on glass science and materials engineering.
