Francisco Marmolejo Cossío is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Boston College, effective January 2025. He concurrently serves as Director of Partnerships at the EAAMO research initiative, a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), and a Research Fellow at Input Output Hong Kong. Previously, he held a Career Development Fellowship in Computer Science at Balliol College, University of Oxford. He earned a D.Phil. in Computer Science from Oxford and a B.A. in Mathematics from Harvard University with a minor in Neuroscience.
His research focuses on applying algorithms, AI, and blockchain technology to address societal challenges in public health and financial access, particularly for underserved communities. He co-founded the EAAMO initiative to bridge academic and practical solutions for equity, leading projects like the Summer of Science program supporting indigenous female scholars in Mexico. Recent work includes developing AI strategies for San Luis Potosí's new AI/robotics campus and designing equitable testing protocols during the pandemic.
Key awards include the 2024 Rising Star in MS&E (Stanford), a 2023 Excellence in Advising nomination, and a Sloan Foundation grant for EAAMO's 2023 conference. He teaches courses on Economics and Computation and has supervised over 20 student research projects across institutions.
