معرفی
Francisco Javier Sánchez Vázquez is a Professor at the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Biology, University of Murcia. He holds a PhD in Physiology from the University of Murcia (1996), supervised by Dr. Salvador Zamora Navarro. His research focuses on circadian rhythms, feeding behavior, and environmental synchronization in fish, with particular emphasis on teleost species like Nile tilapia, European sea bass, and zebrafish. His work integrates physiology, molecular biology, and aquaculture to understand how light, feeding schedules, and temperature influence fish metabolism, stress responses, and reproductive systems.
Key research interests include:
- Circadian clock gene expression
- Feeding rhythm synchronization
- Thermal preference and thermoregulation
- Environmental stress physiology
- Aquaculture feed optimization
His recent studies highlight time-of-day effects on stress responses, the impact of light wavelengths on larval development, and the role of daily thermocycles in fish growth. He collaborates internationally on projects involving fish welfare, nutritional self-selection, and chronobiological applications in aquaculture.
His extensive publication record (1990s–present) covers over 50 peer-reviewed articles, with a focus on rhythmic physiology, reproduction, and environmental adaptation in fish species critical to aquaculture industries.
