Francisco Gallego is a Full Professor at the Institute of Economics, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and serves as Scientific Director of J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and Director of the Institute for Sustainable Development at PUC.
His research spans Development Economics, Political Economy, and Economics of Education, focusing on how information provision affects parental decisions, educational outcomes, and labor dynamics. Recent work explores EdTech interventions during the pandemic, school choice, and environmental policies like vehicle restrictions.
