Francisco Falcone

Francisco Falcone is a distinguished academic in telecommunications and electromagnetics, currently serving as Full Professor at the Public University of Navarre (UPNA) in the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Communication Engineering. He also holds the position of Distinguished Visiting Professor in Telecommunications at Tecnológico de Monterrey's School of Engineering and Science.

His academic journey includes a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from UPNA, where he also earned his Telecommunications Engineering degree. Professor Falcone directs the Institute for Smart Cities at UPNA and serves on the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society committee.

Professor Falcone's research spans electromagnetic simulation, metamaterials, wireless communications, and smart city technologies. His expertise includes simulation of complex electromagnetic scenarios, artificial materials, periodic structures, and wireless network sensor systems. His work bridges theoretical electromagnetics with practical wireless communication applications.

As Director of the Institute for Smart Cities at UPNA, he leads research initiatives focused on integrating wireless systems and sensor networks into urban environments, with particular emphasis on context-aware scenarios and ambient intelligence applications.
