Francisco David Barbado Murillo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sport Sciences at Miguel Hernández University of Elche. He holds dual administrative roles: Deputy Director of the University Institute for Sports Research and Secretary of the Manuel Peláez Chair of Research in Multiple Sclerosis. His office is located at the Centro de Investigación del Deporte (Avda. de la Universidad s/n, Elche).
His research interests span biomechanics of human movement, motor control, and sports performance optimization, with applications in gerontology and healthy aging. He is an active member of the Motor Control and Learning research group, focusing on:
- Structural and sports biomechanics
- Aging and fitness assessment
- Advanced prescription for physical activity
Professor Barbado teaches extensively in the Bachelor's program in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and multiple Master's programs (Gerontology and Health; Sport Performance and Health). Key courses include:
