Francisco Castro

Francisco Castro is an Associate Teaching Professor at Colorado Mesa University (CMU) under the CMU Partnership Program. His research focuses on the mechanical behavior of polymers, particularly shape memory polymers, with expertise in thermo-mechanical characterization and constitutive modeling. He was honored with the Mechanical Engineering Outstanding PhD Dissertation Award in 2009.

Research Interests: Mechanical characterization of polymers, thermo-mechanical behavior of shape memory polymers, and constitutive model implementation. His work explores material recovery mechanisms, thermal effects, and experimental testing systems for polymers under various conditions.
