Francis Jonbäck is an Associate Professor in Philosophy of Religion and Lecturer in Religious Studies and Religious Didactics at Gävle University. He focuses on worldview studies, particularly secular and semi-secular worldviews in religious education. His current project, 'Worldview Didactics: Inclusive Worldview Education for the Semi-Secular Mainstream,' explores non-doxastic approaches to secularism in education. He co-edits Agatheos: European Journal for Philosophy of Religion and the book series Livsåskådningsfilosof.
Education: PhD in Religious Studies (2016) with the thesis The God Who Seeks but Seems to Hide, published by Peeters Publishing (2017).
Research interests include secular/religious agnosticism, atheism, and naturalism. Recent work addresses semi-secular worldviews and belief systems beyond traditional religiosity. His upcoming book Semi-Secular Worldviews and the Belief in Something Beyond (Cambridge UP) expands on these themes.
