Francis Bambico

Francis Bambico is an Associate Professor in Psychology at Memorial University's Faculty of Science, leading the Translational Neuroscience Lab. His research investigates limbic forebrain neurophysiology and plasticity related to stress vulnerability, depression, and anxiety, emphasizing therapeutic targets like synaptic scaling and endocannabinoids.

He employs transgenic models, optogenetics, and brain stimulation techniques to study disease progression across developmental stages. Trained at the University of the Philippines, Max Planck Institute, McGill, Yale, and CAMH, he mentors graduate and undergraduate researchers.
