Francesco Sindico is a Professor of International Environmental Law at the University of Strathclyde Law School and Director of the Climate Change Legal Initiative (C2LI). He co-chairs the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law Climate Change Specialist Group and the IWRA Islands Water Congress, leading multidisciplinary projects like the Islands, Nature and Renewable Energy Project (INREP) and the Carbon Neutral Islands project.
- Education: PhD in Law (Universitat Jaume I, Spain), LLM in International Law and International Relations (Autonoma University, Spain), LLB in Law (University of Turin, Italy)
His research focuses on International Climate Change Law, International Water Law, and Island Studies, with a 2020 monograph on transboundary aquifers. Current work includes land/sea interface governance under the One Ocean Hub and youth movements’ role in sustainability policy. He co-founded the Climate Change Litigation Initiative (C2LI), exploring litigation in non-traditional jurisdictions.
