Francesco Sala

Francesco Sala is a Full Professor and Chair of Neurosurgery at the University of Verona. His research focuses on Pediatric Neurosurgery and Intraoperative Neurophysiology, particularly in tumor surgery and functional preservation. He established the Intraoperative Neurophysiology Unit at Verona's Neurosurgery Department and co-founded the International Society for Intraoperative Neurophysiology (ISIN).

Education: Trained at New York University (1994-1995, 1998-1999) and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto (2003-2004). Leadership roles include President of ISIN (2013-2015), Chair of the Neuromonitoring Committee at the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS), and Vice-President of the Italian Neurosurgical Society.

Teaching: Leads courses in Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Physiotherapy at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Active in training programs for neurosurgeons and specialists.

Labs/Teams: Oversees the Intraoperative Neurophysiology Unit and collaborates with centers like the Brain Bank and WHO Collaborating Centre for Mental Health Research.
